Greater Horseshoe BatRhinolophus ferrumequinum It's the largest specie of the five European HorshoeBat. It's wingspan reaches 35 to 40 centimeters. Nowadays, this specie is extinct in Holland, Luxembourg, and in most of western Germany. In Belgium,Switzerland and the north of France it is severely threatened. To conserve, at least, the actual remaining populations of this endangered bat, all the factors influencing it's population dynamics should be fully understood.600 to 700 Greater Horseshoe Bat hibernate around Bourges and 5 nurseries are monitored each year. |
