This rare medium-size bat has really big ears and only the Long-eared Bat has longer ones. The Bechstein's Bat lives near deciduous trees, big forests, parks or hedges with big trees. It seems sedentary and is never abundant anywhere. This bat is difficult to find : in summer they hide in hollow trees and in winter they get into underground caves only when it's frezzing below O°C. Inside theyre shelter, they usually hide inside deep cracks of the walls or ceilings. Perhaps this specie is not as rare as we think.
